BUTTERFLY GARDENS

When creating a butterfly garden some of the things that need to be considered are, sunlight, wind cover, and species of plants that butterflies prefer for feeding at larva and adult stages. Many of these plants are also very pretty to look at because they include flowers that are colorful. Butterflies also require shallow pools of water. Some plants that are used as a food source for butterflies may not necessarily be used for butterfly larva. By placing a stone path in your butterfly garden the butterflies will have a place to warm themselves in the sunlight. Make sure that no pesticide is used on any of the plants in the butterfly garden because they are very sensitive to these. When arranging your butterfly garden be sure to place the tall plant on the boarder or in an island so that they can get to all the plants. Also if there is not enough shelter for them you could provide a butterfly box.
