NEST BOXES

Nest boxes are a fun way to attract birds to your school grounds. These boxes are used by many species of cavity nesting birds such as bluebirds, swallows, and wrens. Many of these birds are beautiful and sing lovely songs. By making sure to keep the entrances to the boxes small enough you can discourage the use by non-native species. Each year you have to be sure to clean it out but other than that not much maintenance is required. Building the boxes is also a fun project for kids to do.
