WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE

Having wheelchair accessible learning environments is always a big plus. These allow all children the chance to enjoy outdoor learning. They are also a requirement for many schools to meet the American Disability Act requirements. This does mean more space is needed for paths and trails need to be kept clear. Another excellent strategy for making your habitat education site accessible is to provide raised beds 2 to 3 feet tall. This ensures students who use wheelchairs can access the garden site right from their chair.
