REGISTRATION
Submitting the following registration form will secure your space in
the workshop. The workshop includes seven units of instruction, pre-course
requirements, and time to complete final project (if taking for credit).
Allow 8-10 weeks to complete the course. Optional ED808 credit is available through Oregon State University,
College Education. Credit will be paid directly to OSU using
the registration form sent with your enrollment packet. Please review
the Course Process and Requirements message at the bottom of this
page before proceeding.

Portland, OR 97214 Cost is $120 for two Professional Development Course Credits (this
is in addition to the $115 course fee). Complete the OSU ED808 Registration
form (indicate on the course registration form your interest in receiving
course credit and a form will be mailed to you).
Pre-Course Requirements
(the following must be completed prior to starting the course)
- 4-H Volunteer Service Application (two pages)
- Program Commitment Form (pdf)
- Complete the 4-H Background History Release Authorization form with your local 4-H office
- Complete the 4-H Volunteer Leader Screening process with your local county 4-H Staff
Course Process and Requirements
- Pre-Course Requirements: Trainees must complete a course 4-H
volunteer application, program commitment form and an interview with
their local 4-H staff.
Background History checks are conducted on all 4-H volunteers. Your local 4-H office will provide you with the forms necessary for authorizing Oregon State University to conduct this check. There is a $95 course fee which should be sent to the address listed above. After these requirements have been met, trainees will receive a confirmation
letter with a password and instructions on how to log on, their
4-H Wildlife Stewards Project Handbook, 4-H Wildlife Stewards Project Certification Handbook, DVD or VHS video series,
and
registration form for OSU graduate credit (for those who indicate
interest in taking this course for credit).
- Each module includes
a short quiz and sometimes an on-line assignment. Trainees must correctly
answer 80% of 5-10 multiple choice questions and
fully complete each assignment. Trainees will also be required
to participate
in the 4-H Wildlife Stewards web course on-line discussion board
each week.
- Trainees must complete the
course survey
- Trainees only have to complete the modules they
have not received through one of the 4-H Wildlife Stewards on-site
trainings.
- The instructor (Maureen
Hosty) will inform them each time they have passed or completed
a module. Trainees must complete the
module
again if
they don’t pass.
- Once trainees have successfully completed all
the required modules they will receive a certificate of completion.
- Trainees
taking this course for professional development graduate credits must write a one page reflective paper on how they intend to incorporate
the information and resources from this on-line
course
into their school setting.
