Thank you for your interest in Oregon’s wildlife habitats. Wildlife habitats are essential to wildlife survival. By providing food, water, shelter and a place to raise young for desired wildlife, you can transform biologically diverse “dead” zones (even in the middle of urban areas) into thriving wild areas, opening opportunities for exploration, discovery and education.

To create a successful wildlife habitat, it requires more than just planting some native plants; it involved evaluating the area as part of a natural system, providing the necessary plants and materials to enhance that system and then managing the system over time.

This website contains information to help you get started. Take your time, read the support materials, attend workshops and trainings and get others involved. Most important remember the journey is just as important as the destiny. Learn from this experience and enjoy the process. A Habitat Education Site can provide endless opportunity for exploration, learning and enrichment.
